The Schmidt Marine Coastal Pollution Challenge focused on finding solutions to eliminate the causes and reduce the impact of coastal pollution, most specifically nitrogen and phosphorous. The challenge is administered by Schmidt Marine Technology Partners, a program of The Schmidt Family Foundation and will fund more than $1.5 million over two years to the winners’ project to advance their technologies and demonstrate commercial viability. Mango Materials was one of four groups selected and will use the funds to progress their work on using their biodegradable plastic alternative to remove nitrogen from the coastal waters.
